TF2 Coaching Central is announcing their third North American Newbie Cup, a learning experience and friendly competition for people who are new to competitive 6v6.
Players with no to minimal competitive experience will sign up to be placed on a team of six, led by a coach who will teach the basics of how to play the 6v6 format and help you learn the maps. You'll have three weeks to learn and practice together as a team, before facing off in a round robin style tournament with a prize for the winning team. Several former Newbie Cup alumni have gone on to play in RGL, the biggest North American competitive TF2 league.
Sign-ups are open now, and the deadline to apply and be placed on a team is November 23. Team and coach assignments will be made by November 25 and tournament matches will be the weekend of December 17-18.

Having been fed up with the sudden delivery of dead meat on his doorstep, THE DEVIL!!! himself forced these brutes back onto their boats and had them float across the River Styx so that he could be left in peace. After regaining consciousness and adjusting their one good eye, these men realized they weren't alone on their quest! An amassment of ships was on the same track, all with the goal of claiming bounty! Armed with cannons and ready to charge, these scurvy dogs must defeat all the other swashbucklin' sailors and make it to the treasure alone! With the sound of explosions and slurred screams from every direction, THE DEVIL!!! may never get his rest...

After a month and a half of counting, sorting, and organizing, the folks at TF2Maps are ready to show off the best of this year's 72hr TF2Jam! This is their biggest showcase yet at 140 entries!
This year's event received 908 entries, shattering last year's total of 345 and the previous all-time record of 742 set in 2017! The previous donation record (around $10,000 in donations from 1122 different donors) was also shattered by raising a total of $17,916.40 from 1616 different donors! The money was donated to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international, independent organization that provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, and more. Way to go, TF2 Community!

Team Fortress 2 is returning to Insomnia, with teams from around the world competing for their chance of a £5,000 prize pool and a chance at glory! The event takes place from Friday, August 26th, to Sunday, August 28th. EssentialsTF will be bringing all three days of action live from the Insomnia Gaming Festival hosted at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK.

The PASS Time Federation is opening sign-ups for their third season! With new twists and changes, Season 3 is looking for players itching to try out something special! Even if you've played PASS Time before, you'll want to check it out!
The new season won’t start until both the NA and EU branches have their team slots full (8 teams for each), but if the number of qualified teams reaches 24 then the divisions will be split into NA/EU High and Low. There will be in-game medals and a prize pool of keys for the first place team!

The avocados are going on vacation this year! BlapBash is officially back for 2022 raising money for SpecialEffect to put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games!
The two-day livestream event will take place on July 30th and 31st starting at 12pm CEST / 6am EDT for 12 hours each day and will feature many familiar TF2 personalities & communities. They’ve got an avocado-jam-packed schedule featuring a variety of events inside and outside of TF2, including their largest ever TF2 crate unboxing and giveaway yet! That's right, it's baseball-dodgeball season! Teams of five Scouts will compete against one another with only one hit of health, taking their pick of skillful leaping or clumsy cleat-eating as baseballs zip through the sky like a Grand Slam out of Fenway! Do your best to dodge the fastballs or you'll be struck OUT for the round! Overcome the AWAY team in a first-to-five frenzy and topple the bracket to become champion of Major League Mayhem! Be part of the fifth Fortress Faceoffs event and make it to the Top 8 to have your MVP plays streamed live!
For this event, bonus regions like South America, Asia, and Oceania can participate for big prizes as well (though games won't be streamed).

Get ready! The annual TF2Maps 72-Hour Summer Jam is back for 2022, and the whole community is invited to take part! The 72-Hour Jam starts Friday, July 22nd, at 5pm GMT, and lasts until Monday, July 25th, at 5pm GMT!
For anyone new to the concept, the 72-Hour Jam is a TF2Maps tradition where the community dedicates 3 days of their time to producing cool content themed around Team Fortress 2! This includes maps, models, war paints, animations, videos, paintings, drawings, mods, fan-fiction, woodwork, stonework, legwork, homework, and everything else in-between so long as it's related to Team Fortress 2! Let the waves of creativity rush over you! Post your creation(s) on their web site to show them what you made, and they'll give you a genuine in-game medal to flaunt over random passersby!
This year, the Jam’s charity drive is supporting Doctors Without Borders. Anyone who donates $5 or more to the drive is eligible to receive this year’s in-game charity medal. Donate here!

LAN's are finally back, and so is the LAN Downunder! Teams and players from around Oceania will meet this weekend to crown another LAN champion at the GIC Arena in Melbourne, Australia!
