The Lo-Fi Owners Group have teamed up with Child's Play to ensure those kids in hospitals around the world get have some fun with video games while they wait their turn to be Ubercharged. They are looking to raise $1000 from your donations. The 30 most generous donators will receive a Lo-Fi Longwave hat from KritzKast, and will be invited to play a few rounds with our very own Robin Walker.
Full details and rules of the event may be found in the forum. The charity match is tomorrow, so you're running out of time. Head over here to chip in some cash for the worthy cause. And please, if you find Robin in your crosshairs, don't hesitate for a second - take him out. Don't worry if you're out of practice, he's crap at TF2.
Torn Productions dropped us a line to show us their latest work, a frags video from last season's ESEA champions Checksix Gaming, featuring the soldier duo of TLR and Dave__AC. Many Medics & Scouts died to bring you this video, not to mention a large number of enemy soldiers just hanging about in the air.
And who wouldn't? We all got a kick out of this video by MaxOfSD2.
Kassie N over at Tumblr dropped us a line to show us how she and many others in the Tumblr TF2 community spent their time while waiting for Meet the Medic. From June 10th to June 23rd, they drew and painted Medics of all shapes and sizes, and collected them into a massively Medictastic collage. In the end, they had over 160 images, created by over 50 different artists.
Kassie then sent that massive collage to us, and we promptly brought down the Valve network trying to download it. After that, Kassie took mercy on us and broke it into individual images, and our IT staff took mercy and stopped trying to have us fired.
Go check it out!
The chaps over at Will it Craft? fired us an email to say their crafting tool is just as crafty as any previously posted crafting helper, so we crafted up this post to let you know.
The fine folks over at VanillaTF2 dropped us a line to tell us that one of the best games in competitive TF2 history wrapped up on the weekend, when Team Thermaltake met TCM Gaming in the ETF2L Season 9 Premiership Final. If you haven't seen it already, you're in for a treat. You can watch the shoutcast over here (match starts at the 0:53), or the firstperson view over here (match starts at 0:43:30).
Torden also sent us a this breakdown of various other upcoming events in competitive TF2:
If you haven't seen it yet, Thomas 'King2500' Schulz has released his nifty Crafting Advisor, which will analyse your backpack and figure out what you could potentially create out of all the junk you've got lying around in your backpack. Once you select what you want to craft, it'll lay out the set of blueprints you should follow to arrive at it.
Yesterday the folks over at Community Fortress opened up registrations for their first ever 6v6 Tournament, sponsored by Zalman. Head over there and check it out.
Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include: Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2, HL2:DM)
The Control Point guys are upto something over here. There's a countdown and everything. We're assuming the universe will end when it hits zero.
This clever fan-made comic has the Engineer taking matters into his own hands. Nice work, Nik.
